In 2001, DJ made the move to TV, writing, co-creating and
starring in the CBS pilot based on his stand-up act.
Life with David J was a show
about a once awkward bachelor who finds the perfect girl,
settles down and realizes he has no idea what he's doing.
From there, he got his first staff job on Whoopi,
where DJ lived 5 days a week in New York with two very
single guys, traveling home to his wife and his married life
on the weekends.
After Whoopi
ended, DJ wrote a pilot for NBC based on traveling back and
forth between singleville and marriedland. My Other
Life in Brooklyn was produced by Paramount Television
and Grammnet, Kelsey Grammer's company.
The following
fall, DJ got a job writing for Out of Practice.
A dream come true, DJ was writing for Fonzie. Henry
Winkler and Stockard Channing starred in the CBS show about
a family of doctors.
After the show
ended, DJ began working on Brad Garrett's new sitcom, 'Til
Death, about newlyweds who move in next door to a couple
who have been married forever. |
